What is Zumba?
Zumba is a high-energy fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Think of it as a "fitness party" rather than a workout. At MissionFIT Activity Hub in Hailsham, our Zumba classes incorporate interval training—alternating fast and slow rhythms—to help improve cardiovascular fitness. It’s designed to be fun, accessible, and energetic, making you forget you’re actually exercising.

How and what it affects in the body
No membership is required! We offer flexible options: drop-in classes, class bundles among memberships for unlimited access. Pick what works best for you.
What to Wear For a Zumba Class
Comfort is key! We recommend moisture-wicking leggings or shorts and a breathable t-shirt or tank top. Most importantly, wear supportive trainers with good cushioning, as you’ll be doing a lot of bouncing and side-to-side movement. Don’t forget a water bottle and a small towel—you will sweat!
Is Zumba a good dance exercise for seniors/beginners?
Absolutely. One of the best things about Zumba at our Hailsham studio is that it is easily modified. Beginners can follow the basic footwork without the complex arm movements, and seniors can keep the intensity "low-impact" by avoiding jumps. Our instructors, led by Kiera, specialize in making sure everyone feels successful, regardless of their starting point.
How can I book Zumba fitness classes near me?
If you are looking for Zumba in Hailsham, Polegate, or the surrounding Wealden area, booking is simple. We use the Gymcatch app to manage all our sessions. You can find our schedule on the MissionFIT website or go directly to Gymcatch and search for "MissionFIT Activity Hub." We offer single class passes, 10-session bundles, and monthly memberships for those ready to commit.
What’s the difference between Dance Fitness and Zumba?
While all Zumba is dance fitness, not all dance fitness is Zumba. Zumba follows a specific formula based on Latin rhythms like Cumbia, Salsa, and Merengue. "Dance Fitness" is a broader term that might include pop, hip-hop, or even jazz-style movements. At MissionFIT, our Zumba classes provide that authentic, rhythmic Latin flair that fans across the world love.
Is Zumba a good workout and can it help me lose weight?
Zumba is an incredible calorie burner. Depending on your intensity level, you can burn between 300 and 600 calories in a single hour-long session. Because it’s so much fun, people tend to stick with it longer than traditional gym workouts, which is the "secret sauce" for weight loss: consistency. When combined with a balanced diet, our Zumba classes are a highly effective way to shed pounds and tone up.
Why Choose MissionFIT Hailsham?
Unlike big corporate gyms where you’re just a number, MissionFIT is a community hub. Our studio at Unit 43, Station Road Industrial Estate, offers a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere. We pride ourselves on being "inclusive," as noted in our 5-star Google reviews. After class, you're in the heart of Hailsham, making it easy to grab a coffee or run errands.

ZUMBA CLASS REVIEWS

We had a great Zumba Night with Kiera for Hailsham Young Farmers in January! Her energy was electric and it was a great way to get moving in the new year! Would definitely recommend for a club activity!

Lovely venue and friendly welcome. Kiera is infectiously encouraging and energetic with Zumba Gold. Hula hooping with Cordelia is great fun and a hooping is a good core strengthener. Join the hula hooping class and achieve a skill which is good for mind, body and co-ordination whilst getting fit and enjoying the music too.

My confidence has grown immensely since joining the classes at MissionFit. It is a wonderful community and I have met some fantastic other likeminded people.
There classes are super and cover all sorts of exercises , Including Pilates, full body workouts, yoga and Zumba. It is great that they also have a wide range of class times to fit around my busy life. I could not recommend enough!

I do circuits and zumba and i can say they are the best classes ive been to. Staff are so fun and encouraging, all ages and experiences go and its such a good experience all round. Keira helps with posture and gives advice with nutrition to encourage you to do your best!
Highly recommend!

Keira is an absolute brilliant teacher in Zumba, explains all the movements really well, has exceptional enthusiasm, cannot recommend her classes enough. 😊

A lot of thought and hard work has gone into this very well-designed space, which is light and airy. There's something to suit everyone. I enjoy Zumba Gold, Hoop Aerobics and Seated Pilates. Kiera and the other instructors are very friendly and make exercise fun

I love the Zumba classes, so fun and always a good variety of dances and songs! The Activity Hub is an ideal space to workout, very relaxed, clean and friendly environment. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get fit and have fun!
